Turtle Creek pupils ride bikes for charity MARLBORO — As part of "Month of the Young Child," students in kindergarten, preschool and pre-K classes at Turtle Creek Learning Academy in Marlboro rode their bicycles in a Trike-A-Thon charity benefit April 30 and May 1. The children raised $1,235 to support Arms Wide Open, a charity founded by Dena Sherwood of Marlboro, whose daughter attended Turtle Creek, after Dena's infant son, Billy, was diagnosed with a rare form of childhood cancer, neuroblastoma. The money raised will be used to provide financial and emotional support to families of critically ill children and to fund medical research for pediatric cancers. |
