            The Colts Neck High School girls soccer team has put the finishing touches on an undefeated Shore Conference A North Division championship season. The Cougars turned back a dangerous Manalapan High School team that has been hitting its stride lately, 1-0, on Oct. 18 to complete their A North Division schedule with a 12-0 mark.

            Anytime this late into a football season when two undefeated teams meet, a lot is at stake. That will be the case on Oct. 30 when Coach Cory Davies' Howell High School Rebels put their 6-0 mark on the line against Sayreville War Memorial High School (7-0) in Sayreville.

            Freehold's Vicki Ahlers, a freshman at Ramapo College, Mahwah, was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for field hockey. Ahlers, a forward, registered five points in Ramapo's two wins, 4-1 over FDU-Florham and 8-2 over Richard Stockton College. Ahlers is tied for sixth in the NJAC in goals scored with seven.

      Patriots win A North, conference meet next
            Freehold Township High School's gymnasts will look to add the 2009 Shore Conference team championship to their list of accomplishments on Oct. 31. Having won their first Shore Conference A North Division title since 1993, the Patriots will seek the Shore Conference title at Brick Memorial High School in Brick Township.
