Film Noir Month will be presented at the Marlboro library, Wyncrest Road, on Thursdays at 2 p.m. "In a Lonely Place" will be shown Oct. 30. Details: 732-536-9406.

The Howell Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Halloween social for Howell residents from 5-7:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at the Recreation Building, 251 Preventorium Road, Howell. The event will feature activities, face painting, balloon sculptures, horse and carriage rides and a Mad Science show at 6:30 p.m. Residents are invited to come in costume and bring a carved jack-o'lantern to be placed on a "magical" display. A craft/holiday show fundraiser will be held at St. Robert's parish house, 61 Georgia Road, Freehold Township, from 3- 8 p.m. Nov. 1. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit U.S. Army 1st Lt.
