Bird walks offered at Mon. Battlefield Park

The New Jersey Audubon Society members Nano Mardones and Leslie Roche will lead bird walks within Monmouth Battlefield State Park, Manalapan, 8:15 a.m. Sept. 6 and 21, Oct. 11 and 19, Nov. 2, 16 and 30,and Dec. 14.

The free walks will explore paths, cornfields, orchards and the woods at the park. Attendees may expect to see bluebirds, goldfinches, indo buntings, warblers and other species. All hikes begin at the visitor center, and birders should bring binoculars and insect repellent.
