• U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone Jr. (DN. J.) is inviting his constituents to come and voice their concerns and opinions on issues facing New Jersey and the nation during a town hall meeting on Aug. 21 in Marlboro. The meeting will take place at Marlboro Town Hall, 1979 Township Drive, from 7-9 p.m.

The Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County will host an open house from 3-8 p.m. Aug. 21 at its new location in the Levi Solomon barn at 310 Mount's Corner Drive, corner of Wemrock Road and Route 537, Freehold Township (in the Mount's Corner shopping center). Marlboro High School librarian Donna Galinski will lead two discussions of Freehold Regional High School District summer reading selections at the Marlboro library, Wyncrest Road, Marlboro. "Shoeless Joe," by W.P. Kinsella, a 10thgrade selection, will be discussed on Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time," by Mark Haddon, an 11th-grade summer reading selection, will be discussed on Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. Books are available to be borrowed from the library. A Kids Health Fair will be held at CentraState Medical Center's Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus, 901 W. Main St., Freehold, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 6. The event will feature tours, a teddy bear and doll clinic for children to bring friends to be "examined," a bicycle rodeo and helmet safety check for children age 6 and up who bring bicycles and helmets (preregistration required), agility tests for children age 9 and up, healthy cooking demonstrations with healthy lunch box tips and child obesity information, and dietitian advice. The Marlboro dog park's grand opening will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 13 at the municipal complex, Wyncrest Road, Marlboro, in observance of the American Kennel Club's Responsible Dog Ownership Day. The event will be held rain or shine and will feature pets for adoption, pet licensing, pet health advice and "Canine Good Citizen" testing. There will be doggy games, activities, contests with prizes and more. A park dedication ceremony is scheduled for 3 p.m. Free event. All are welcome.

• A clothing and linen sale conducted by the Martha Mary Guild of St. Mary's Church, Route 34 and Phalanx Road, Colts Neck, will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 18-19 and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 20. Men's, women's and children's clothing and accessories will be available for purchase in Madonna Hall (in the spiritual center, behind the church). New and designer items and linens, and used books, videos, CDs and DVDs will be available in the parish hall (in the church building).
