A "mega sale" of adult and children's hard-covered and paperback books, DVDs, CDs, tapes and more is being held daily at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan, from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1-4 p.m. through Aug. 16.

The films of William Powell and Myrna Loy will be presented at the Marlboro library, Wyncrest Road, on Thursdays at 2 p.m. "Love Crazy," Aug. 14; "The Thin Man Goes Home," Aug. 21; and "Song of the Thin Man," Aug. 28. Free admission and popcorn. Details: 732-536-9406.

Friends and Family CPR will be taught at CentraState's Star and Barry Tobias Health Awareness Center, 901 W. Main St., Freehold Township, from 9-11:30 a.m. Aug. 16. "History Alive: Over Here, Molly Pitcher," a dramatic presentation featuring Stacy Roth, a historical interpreter, will highlight the lives of women who belonged to the army during the American Revolution. Free program, 1 p.m. Aug. 16 at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan.

A peach festival will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 8 Main St., Farmingdale, from 5-7 p.m. Aug. 17.

The Bronx Wanderers, a party rock and dance band, will perform in concert from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Manalapan Recreation Center, Route 522 at Taylors Mills Road, Manalapan. Bring blankets and chairs.

The Howell Board of Education will conduct a policy meeting at 7 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Howell K-8 School District administration building, 200 Squankum- Yellowbrook Road, Howell. Marlboro High School librarian Donna Galinski will lead two discussions of Freehold Regional High School District summer reading selections at the Marlboro library, Wyncrest Road. "Shoeless Joe," by W.P. Kinsella, a 10th-grade selection, will be discussed Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time," by Mark Haddon, an 11thgrade summer reading selection, will be discussed Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. Books are available to be borrowed from the library.
