• A "mega sale" of adult and children's hard-covered and paperback books, DVDs, CDs, tapes and more is being held daily at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, 125 Symmes Drive, Manalapan, from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1-4 p.m. through Aug. 16.

• A peach festival will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 8 Main St., Farmingdale, from 5-7 p.m. Aug. 17.

• The Bronx Wanderers, a party rock and dance band, will perform in concert from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Manalapan Recreation Center, Route 522 at Taylors Mills Road, Manalapan. Bring blankets and chairs.

• The Howell Board of Education will conduct a policy meeting at 7 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Howell K-8 School District administration building, 200 Squankum- Yellowbrook Road, Howell. • Marlboro High School librarian Donna Galinski will lead two discussions of Freehold Regional High School District summer reading selections at the Marlboro library, Wyncrest Road. "Shoeless Joe," by W.P. Kinsella, a 10th-grade selection, will be discussed Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time," by Mark Haddon, an 11thgrade summer reading selection, will be discussed Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. Books are available to be borrowed from the library.
