Marlboro Mustangs Blue, an 8-yearold travel team, won 11 straight games on the way to winning a pair of tournaments recently. Marlboro captured the Monroe and East Brunswick tournaments during the streak. They had to stage a major comeback to keep the streak alive. Trailing Montgomery by five runs in a semifinal game, they scored six runs in the last inning to win the game and advance to the final.

The Marlboro Mustangs Blue are: Lukas Preiss, Danny McGrath, Will Goldhecht, John Caracappa, Michael Grimaldi, David Brady, Luke Ricciardi, John Weitzman and Jeremy Bello. Freddy Grimaldi is the manager and Scoot Preiss, Lou Ricciardi and John Caracappa make up the coaching staff.

Eagle Ridge Golf Club, Lakewood, hosted Junior Golf America's seventh stop on the Summer Tournament schedule on July 29. Hamilton's Anthony Todaro won the boys 16-19 division, carding a 77. It was one stroke better than Point Pleasant's William Hawthorne and Howell's Trevor Rockhill, who won a JGA tourney earlier in the summer, tied for second with 78s. Wayne's Michal Diorio won the 14-15 age bracket with an 85. Conor Pocino from Chesterfield was second (87) and Holmdel's Jeffrey Chan, third (91).

Allentown's John Masserini won the 12-13 age division with an 88. Quinn Kusma from Lavallette was second (92) and Wall's Thomas Gunning, third (96).

The 10-11 age division, played over nine holes, was won by Nicolas Stacy of Point Pleasant, who took 54 strokes. Cream Ridge's Mark Bernet was second (59) and Colts Neck's Sam Zietara, third (64).

The New Jersey Sire Stakes begins its second season at Freehold Raceway today and tomorrow with Green Acres Division racing for 3-year-olds. The NJSS recently completed its Pari-Mutuel Division racing program at the Meadowlands.

The top-level NJSS Pari-Mutuel Division begins Aug. 9 with competition for 2- year-old pacing colts.

The Green Acres series consists of four legs and a $35,000 final in each of eight divisions of 2- and 3-year-old pacers and trotters. The Pari-Mutuel Division series consists of three legs and an $85,000 final in each for the same eight divisions.

The Manalapan Parks and Recreation is sponsoring the Rising Star Soccer Camp that will run from Aug. 18-22 at Manalapan High School. The camp is for children ages 7-14 and is directed by Manalapan High School soccer head coaches John Natoli (boys) and Rick Garretson (girls). The camp will from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day.
