CHRIS KELLY staff Family members of Freehold Borough firefighters who died in the line of duty look on as a new monument is dedicated on Aug. 2 near the site of the 1933 fire at the Polchak coat factory on Mechanic Street that claimed the lives of three firefighters. In all, five firefighters associated with the Freehold Fire Department have lost their lives in the line of duty over the years.
