CentraState hits fundraising goal

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP - Nearly 700 individuals, organizations and companies have donated more than $10.8 million to the CentraState Healthcare Foundation, which recently announced the completion of a 30-month capital campaign.

The final gift was from Duncan Thecker, Colts Neck, of $500,000, to fund a geriatric fellowship at CentraState's Family Medicine Residency Program.

Most of the donations were toward the new Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus that opened last fall, according to a press release.

"This campaign supported the largest expansion in CentraState history and delivers on our promise to redefine the role of a community hospital, where the emphasis on promoting wellness is as important as treating illness," said Roman Lucky, vice president, Development, CentraState Healthcare Foundation.

"All of us at CentraState are extremely grateful to the 682 donors whose generosity resulted in the most successful campaign in our history," he added.

CentraState thanked capital campaign co-chairs Jack Collins and Fred Morelli, civic leaders and physicians who served on the campaign committee, and many volunteers for their efforts and results. The total amount donated was $10,820,708.
