Students perform in concert
The Cecilian Music Club held its 17th annual Cecilian Awards Winners' Concert in Woodrow Wilson Auditorium at Monmouth University, West Long Branch, on May 18. The musicians who played in the recital ranged in age from 7 to 18 and had to win an adjudicated audition in order to perform.

The winners who performed solo piano are: Clare Cahir, Anna Cai, Matthew Chen, Justin Cheng, Michael Gao, Dustin Hwang, Tzu-Han Jan, Darren Jeng, Erica Lee, Sherry Li, Truman Liu, Amrita Mazumdar, Lucas Hurley McCabe, Felicia Ng, Katherine Quan, Miriam Shao, Alice Shih, Katherine Shiu, Sydney Thai, Jessica Tien, Sarah Vicol, Mia Wang, Nicole Wang, Wesley Wang, Margaret Wong, Michelle Yam, Jessica Yin, Alice Zhang, James Zhang and Abbey Zhu.

The winners who performed piano duets are: Inna Authur/Clare Cahir, Matthew Chen/Justin Cheng, Timothy Lee/Amrita Mazumdar, Catherine Yam/Michelle Yam and Abbey Zhu/Allen Zhu.E

than Cheng, Melissa Co and Margaret Wong played a piano trio.

Ambika Chottera and Mary Tresvalles each performed solos for harp.

Phoebe Chou and Phyllis Chou and Alex Liu and Abraham Wu each performed cello and piano duets.

Stephanie Wei played solo flute, and Sarah Horng, Jodie Lin, Stacey Pan and Ray Weng formed a flute chamber group.

Teachers who prepared students for this competition are: Colette Adam of Highland Park, Bing Bing Chang of Princeton, Yu-chen Chao of New York, Beth S. Chen of Marlboro, Jennifer Chen of Metuchen, Yvonne Huang of Morris Plains, Marjorie Mollenauer of Colts Neck, Shelley Stack of Matawan, Jessica Tsai of East Windsor, Chia Hsiu Wang of Parsippany, Helen Pei Hua Jia Wang of Old Bridge, Cathy Tao Yin of New York, and An-li Young of East Brunswick.
