• A used book sale will be conducted by the Freehold Area Branch of the American Association of University Women from 5-9 p.m. June 25, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 26-27, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 28 at the Freehold Reformed Church, 67 W. Main St., Freehold. More than 20,000 books will be for sale. Proceeds will support women in their educational pursuits as well as the Open Door after-school program for children in Freehold. • The Italian American Association (IAA) of Monmouth County will host its second annual Italian American Festival, June 26-29 at Freehold Raceway Route 9 north, Freehold. • Thompson Grove Park's grand opening will be held from 3-7 p.m. June 29 on Thompson Grove Road, Manalapan. The park features walking trails, picnic areas and an 8-acre open field. There will be live music, face painting, balloon animals, food and family activities. The park opening will also mark the start of the Summer Concert Series sponsored by the Manalapan Arts Council.
