Former Hollies member to perform in Marlboro The Monmouth Academy of Musical Arts (MAMA) will present its second "living room" concert for 2008. The concert, which is open to the public, will be held at 8 p.m. July 11 and will feature Terry Sylvester, formerly of the Hollies. The Cryers, a local rock band, will open the show and perform songs from the band's new CD, "Rock 'n' Roll Holiday," plus classic tunes from the 1960's. Sylvester will then join the Cryers on stage and perform songs made popular by the Hollies, including "Bus Stop," "Long Cool Woman," "The Air That I Breathe" and "He Ain't Heavy." The concert event will be held at MAMA's facility, 1230 Campus Drive west, Morganville section of Marlboro. The facility features a 75-seat concert hall, a recording studio and teaching rooms. The Cryers have performed with legends such as Denny Laine of The Moody Blues and Paul McCartney's Wings; Joey Molland of Badfinger; Lawrence Juber of PaulMcCartney'sWings; and IanMitchell of the Bay City Rollers. In addition, some of the members of the band also run theMonmouthAcademy of Musical Arts. Admission for the Terry Sylvester "living room" concert is $25.
