Howell school advances in 'The Challenge'

HOWELL- Continuing their winning streak in Round 3, the academic team from Monmouth Academy is moving on to Round 4 and closer to the New Jersey finals of Cablevision's "The Challenge," an academic quiz show designed to test students' knowledge in a Jeopardy-style format.

The match-up between Monmouth Academy and Bergen County Academies will air exclusively on News 12 New Jersey at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. May 24, with an encore airing the very next night, May 25, at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

"Of the 32 New Jersey high schools that competed in 'The Challenge' this season, it has come down to four terrific academic teams remaining, two of which will go on to the New Jersey finals," said Trent Anderson, Cablevision's vice president of education.

"The pressure is really on now, since the winner of the New Jersey finals may ultimately compete in the tristate regionals and beyond. We wishMonmouthAcademy and Bergen County Academies the best of luck in their upcoming showdown," Anderson said.
