Paul R. Carpenter

Mr. Carpenter, 80, a resident of Farmingdale for the past 22 years, died May 1, 2008, at Meridian Subacute Rehabilitation in Wall. He was a U.S. Navy veteran during World War II and was employed as an engineer for the U.S. Department of Defense at Picatinny Arsenal. Mr. Carpenter was predeceased by his first wife, Rose, and his sister, Harriet. He is survived by his wife, Grace; five children; a stepdaughter; a brother, William Carpenter of Pennsylvania; a sister, Doris Seecutt of California; 10 grandchildren; and a step-grandson. A memorial service was held at the Pierce Memorial Presbyterian Church, Farmingdale, followed by private interment. Arrangements were by the Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
