Student Council goes to town hall

MANALAPAN - The Student Council of the Wemrock Brook School, along with the school's assistant principal and Student Council director Jayme Orlando, recently went on an outing toManalapan town hall.

According to an account written by Student Council secretary Sydney Riina, who is in the sixth grade, after being greeted by Mayor Michelle Roth the students were divided into four groups and were given a tour of the municipal building.

Each group got to see the police department, the municipal courtroom, construction department, health department, zoning and planning department and the parks and recreation department. After enjoying refreshments, each student was presented with a book about Manalapan, signed by the mayor.

The following students took part in the visit to town hall: fourth-graders Nicholas Senuto, Heather Zeleznik, David Peterson, Shannon Monahan, Carina Dhru, Rebecca Leviton, Jill Connelly, Shannon McGovern and Dylan Williams;

Fifth-graders Lauren Barcheski, Valentina Salomon, Christopher Mallamaci, Robert Raitano, Jessica Banjany, Michael Flynn and Jared Perskin;

Sixth-graders Patrick Gribbon, Sarah M. Ferreira, Jenna Scannelli, Rhys Dring, Shane Peles, Alexander Mattina, Jeremy Tyler Katz, Alexa Weintraub and Nicolette Armine.

The Student Council officers who attended were Adrian Vitello, Jennifer Thorsheim, Sydney Riina and Abigail Pitts.

"What a wonderful experience for our future leaders," Orlando said.
