George Ingram Sr. Mr. Ingram, 93, of Freehold, died April 11, 2008, at home. He began working as a groomsman for racehorses for the Chappel family in 1948, and spent the remainder of his career working for Harold Dancer until retiring in 1980. He was predeceased by his wife, Lois Louise Long Ingram; a daughter, Hattie C. Ingram; a son, Sylvester Ingram; a great-grandson, Julian T. Ingram; and two brothers, Lindsey and Mark Ingram. He is survived by his daughters, Annie M. "Peggy" Savage and her husband James, Franklin, Ky., Louise F. Holley, Regina Fenn and her husband Calvin, all of Manchester, Loistine Ingram, Freehold, and Talaya "Tee" Ingram, Neptune; his sons, Lenzie "Bay" Ingram and his wife Ora, Freehold, Cleveland Ingram and his wife Sharon, Riverdale, Ga., George "Scotter" Ingram Jr. and his former wife Phyllis, Asbury Park, Ronnie Ingram and his wifeWendy, Freehold, and Kenneth Ingram,Asbury Park; a sister,AliceWebb; a sister-in-law, Annie Lee Swain and her husband William; two brothers-in-law, M.L. Long and Amos Andrews, all of Augusta, Ga.; 30 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Bethel A.M.E. Church, Freehold, under the direction of the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold. Interment followed at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. |
