Congressman Rush Holt is a fine representative for NJ
It was with much chagrin that I read Greater Media Newspapers Executive Editor Greg Bean's comments about Congressman Rush Holt in your Feb. 13, 2008 edition ("Besides Rush, There Wasn't a Friendly Face in the House").

We are very fortunate to have a man like Rush Holt representing us in the U.S. Congress. Congressman Holt is not your "typical politician," in fact, he is the antithesis. He realizes that the state of New Jersey is in a rough economical situation.

Whether Congressman Holt introduced Gov. Corzine or not at a town hall meeting does not negate all the positives about our congressman.

Rush Holt is a brilliant man who has in-depth knowledge of science and education. Personally, I do not know of any elected official in Washington, D.C., who is as approachable as Mr. Holt.

Whether it is to attack a local problem, address our seniors or students, Congressman Holt makes a point of always being available. One can always find our congressman participating in a local function and one can always reach out to Mr. Holt with a problem.

If our country had more elected officials like Congressman Holt we would all be in a better place. Congressman Holt is truly a very dedicated official and we can only hope that we will have the good fortune to have this personable man as our congressman for many years to come.

With Rush Holt as our congressman, we can be assured that we have a strong, dedicated, sincere voice in Washington.
