Let the people decide if they support a train
Ijust read in the newspaper that Marlboro Mayor Jonathan Hornik and Township Council President Jeff Cantor are opposing the famous Lakehurst to Matawan rail line (let's call it the train).

Let me tell you that you are not speaking for me. I would also venture to say that the majority of Marlboro residents will support the proposed Lakehurst to Matawan train. This train may in all likelihood increase property values to levels seen only in Westchester and Long Island, N.Y.T

he majority of "objectors" are people who in past years purchased properties along or next to the train right of way, fully knowing that the possibility for the train is "real."

Now they are fighting against it, naming the environment, the ecology and the rest of the usual "nonsense," which is pure NIMBY (not in my back yard).

In my humble opinion you should be "fighting" to bring the train to Marlboro! As both of you know, the decision has to be made based on "the largest benefit to the community." If you wish to speak for the majority, please schedule a referendum on the subject. I will respectfully accept the will of the majority.
