Valerie Joan Olexsak

Mrs. Olexsak, 52, of Howell, died Jan. 26, 2008, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Patchogue, N.Y., she had resided in Howell since 1968 and was a 1973 graduate of Howell High School. Mrs. Olexsak was a senior clerk transcriber for the Monmouth County Board of Social Services' Legal Department, Freehold Township, for 19 years before she retired. She was predeceased by her parents, Elaine M. Whalen and Jay P. Whalen Sr., as well as a brother, Steve Whalen. Surviving are her husband, John A. Olexsak; two brothers, Jay P. Whalen Jr. and Barry Whalen, both of Jackson; two sisters, Barbara Turning of Tinton Falls and Elaine Rumola of Jackson; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Elizabeth and John Olexsak of Freehold Township. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.
