Lajos "Lou" Borodics

Mr. Borodics, 87, of Englishtown, died Jan. 19, 2008, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Born and raised in Hungary, Mr. Borodics was a freedom fighter during the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and escaped to the United States in 1957. He had lived in the Perth Amboy area, as well as in Lakewood and Jackson, before moving to Englishtown three years ago. Mr. Borodics was a foreman with the former Anaconda Copper Works of Perth Amboy for 19 years. After his retirement, he worked part time for 20 years as a jack-of-alltrades at Just Plain Janes in Jackson. He was an avid illustrator and painter. Mr. Borodics was predeceased by his wife, Ilona, in 1963. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Ilona and John Medina of Monroe; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Spotswood Funeral Home, followed by interment at Alpine Cemetery, Perth Amboy.
