Geoffrey V. "Pudge" Schaller Sr.

Mr. Schaller, 61, of Union Beach, died Jan. 18, 2008, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born in Long Branch, he was a lifelong resident of Union Beach. He was a brakeman at Conrail, Elizabeth, for 30 years. He served with the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating. He was predeceased by a brother, Mybrit R. Schaller. He is survived by his wife, Jean E. Hunter Schaller; a son, Geoffrey V. Schaller Jr. of the Leonardo section of Middletown; a daughter and son-in-law, Simone and Ken Dannecker of Union Beach; five brothers, Lance Schaller of Florida, Wade Schaller and Kurt Schaller, both of Keansburg, Blair Schaller of Leonardo, and Dorian Schaller of Manalapan; a sister, Andrea Zarzycki of Keansburg; and six grandchildren. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport.
