Otis Woods

Mr. Woods, 56, of Freehold, died Jan. 13, 2008, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Tuskegee, Ala., he had resided in Freehold for the past 44 years. Mr. Woods was a nitrate operator for Hercules Inc., Parlin section of Sayreville, prior to retiring and had previously been employed at Nestlé, Freehold. Following his retirement, he worked for Wal-Mart, Freehold Township. Mr. Woods was a member of Walter J. Conley Elks Lodge No. 1379, Freehold. He was also a former coach for Freehold Borough Little League and Freehold Borough Recreation's basketball program. Surviving are his wife, Betty Jean Blacknall Woods; a son, Keith Woods; a daughter, Kimberly Renee Woods; his mother, Annie B. Woods; a stepsister and stepbrother, Cynthia Cohen and Steven Woods, both of Chicago; two grandchildren; and many friends and other family members. Funeral services were held at New Hope Baptist Church, Freehold, followed by interment atMaplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
