Manalapan Township Committeewoman Michelle Roth was elected mayor of Manalapan for 2008 by a 3-1 vote during the committee's reorganization meeting on Jan. 2. Roth voted for herself and was supported by Committeewoman Susan Cohen and Committeeman Richard Klauber. Committeeman Anthony Gennaro voted no on Roth's nomination as mayor. Committeeman Andrew Lucas did not cast a vote on Roth's nomination. Due to an editing error, not a reporting error, an article in the Jan. 9 edition of the News Transcript incorrectly stated that Lucas had voted in favor of Roth's nomination as mayor.
