Defensive Driving Course at MHS Jan. 26

A Defensive Driving Course sponsored by the Manalapan High School Marching Band will be conducted by certified instructors from the National Safety Council (NSC) from 9 a.m. to about 4 p.m. Jan. 26 at the Manalapan municipal building, Route 522 and Taylors Mills Road. The cost of $30 per person includes lunch, certifications and materials. An additional $10 will be charged for those who want to receive insurance discounts and/or reduction of points.

The six-hour course includes a discussion of the behaviors that influence driving habits as well as vehicle characteristics, the NSC's "Collision Prevention Formula," the effects of drugs and alcohol on driving and anticipated potential hazards. New Jersey State residents may receive up to a 10 percent discount on their automobile insurance and/or the reduction of up to two motor vehicle points. (Check with individual insurance carriers).
