Harold "Had" E. Langdon

Mr. Langdon, 95, of Freehold Township, died Dec. 12, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Pittsburgh, he had lived in Woodbridge before moving to Freehold Township in 1967. Mr. Langdon was a golf professional at various local country clubs, including the Colonia Country Club in the Colonia section of Woodbridge, the Battleground Country Club in the Tennent section of Manalapan, and the Bella Vista Country Club in Marlboro. He also played professional golf in the mid- to late 1940s. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he served during World War II. He was a 50-year member of Elks Lodge No. 1668, Oakmont, Pa., and a charter member of the Marine Corps League's Cpl. Philip A. Reynolds Detachment No. 203, Freehold. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen M. Langdon, in 2000. Surviving are a son, Nick H. Langdon of Coventry, R.I.; and two grandchildren. A memorial service was held at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Interment followed. Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements.
