PTO running online seed sale

FREEHOLD - In recognition of Earth Day, a worldwide event that was celebrated on April 22, the Freehold Learning Center PTO is offering its first e-commerce totally Web-based fundraising program with an Earth Day Seed Sale.

In an effort to save a tree with a paperless fundraiser, the environmentally friendly Freehold Learning Center PTO is going green with its first totally e-commerce Earth Day Seed Sale.

According to a press release, a substantial percentage of all seed sales generated through the PTO's Internet Web site will go to the PTO and will be used to expand student assembly programs and field trips, increase school supplies and include additional enriching activities for students throughout the year.

The sale will be ongoing and will be offered in conjunction with Botanical Interests Inc., which provides high-quality seeds and offers more than 400 varieties of untreated seeds from which to choose.

Additionally, the company offers a large selection of certified organic varieties as well as service and information for gardeners.
