Kindergarten registration to be held in Colts Neck

COLTS NECK - Registration of kindergarten children for the 2008-09 school year will be held March 11 for children with last names beginning with A-F; March 12 for children with last names beginning with G-N; and March 13 for children with last names beginning with O-Z.

In the event of inclement weather, kindergarten regis tration will take place March 14.

Registration times are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day and will beheld at the Conover Road Primary School, 56 Conover Road. Registration forms may be obtained at the principal's office of the Conover Road Primary School or on the school district's Internet Web site at www.coltsneckschools.org.

Children who will turn 5 years old on or before Oct. 1 will be eligible for kindergarten in September. When registering a child for kindergarten, parents or legal guardians will be requested to provide the original birth certificate (with raised seal) that was issued by the Registrar of Vital Statistics of the municipality in which the child was born (religious or hospital records cannot be accepted).

In addition, a parent or legal guardian is responsible for presenting a New Jersey digital driver's license and other proof of residency.

The Colts Neck School District will once again offer a full-day Kindergarten Complement Program (KCP) for the 2008- 09 school year at an annual tuition of $2,550 per child. At the time of registration parents or legal guardians will be asked to indicate their intention for

the KCP or the traditional

half-day program.

For those who choose to enroll their child in

the KCP, a $500 deposit

made payable to the

Colts Neck Board of Education

will be collected

at the time of registration. The remaining tuition will be

collected in two equal installments of $1,025 due June 1 and Aug. 1.

According to New Jersey law, children entering schools in the state are required to be up to date with the following immunizations: DPT, polio, measles, rubella, mumps, HIB, hepatitis B, varicella and Mantoux. All documents verifying immunizations must be submitted by Aug. 15. Children may not start school without proof of immunization.
