George Saran Unkunow

Mr. Unkunow, 71, of Jackson, died Nov. 27, 2007, at Atlantic Coast Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Lakewood. He was known to everyone as "Uncle George." Born in Bulgaria, he had lived in the Kensington area of Philadelphia as well as in Chicago before moving to Jackson 15 years ago. Mr. Unkunow was a carpenter in the Chicago area for many years. He was a member of the Philadelphia Buddhist Temple. He is survived by a brother, Sergey "Sam" Unkunow of Northport, Fla., and two sisters, Nadia Ubushin of Howell and Lee Urubshurow of Jackson. A funeral service was held at the Nistan Temple, Howell, followed by interment at St. Vladimir's Cemetery, Jackson. Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements.
