Beatrice Phyllis Wolfbein Shteir

Mrs. Shteir, 87, of Nashville, Tenn., died Dec. 1, 2007, in Nashville. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had resided in the Smithburg section of Freehold Township before moving to Nashville seven years ago. Mrs. Shteir was a bookkeeper for Landau Publishing Co., New York City, and also worked in the Smithburg General Store. She was a member of the Freehold chapter of Hadassah and the New York Mandolin Orchestra in New York City. Mrs. Shteir was predeceased by her husband, Leon Shteir, in 1983. Surviving are a son, Mark Kenneth Shteir; two daughters, Laurie Evin Shteir and Lynn Shteir Fuchs; a brother; and two grandsons. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Workmen's Circle Cemetery, Freehold Township.
