Marine Corps Pfc. Matthew H. Miller, son of Susan J. and Edward M. Miller of Manalapan, recently graduated from the Bulk Fuel Specialist Course at the U.S. Army Quarter Master School, Fort Lee, Va., where students receive instruction on the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of fuel handling units and accessory equipment. They also test petroleum products to evaluate the quality used in amphibious assault fuel handling systems. A 1991 graduate of Manalapan High School, Miller joined the Marine Corps in April.

Cadet Nicholas A. Parisi, son of Joseph and Maria Parisi of the Morganville section of Marlboro, has completed cadet basic training at the United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y. Parisi was among close to 1,300 cadet candidates who concluded their training with a 12-mile road march from Camp Buckner to West Point on Aug. 13. New cadets were officially accepted into the Corps of Cadets on Aug. 18. Parisi, a 2007 graduate of Marlboro High School, is a member of West Point's class of 2011 and will be commissioned a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
