Howell's Courtney Krol has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year for the third consecutive year. The College of New Jersey senior earned the recognition by spearheading a defensive unit that registered 14 shutouts and leads the NJAC in fewest goals allowed (four) and goals against average (0.14). Krol led the Lions to their third straight NJAC championship and a berth in the NCAA Championship Tournament.

Along with being the Defensive Player of the Year, Krol was selected to the All- NJAC First Team for the third straight time.

Krol is a graduate of Howell High School where she won varsity letters in soccer and basketball. She captained the soccer team her senior year when the Rebels went to the Central Jersey Group IV championship game for the first time in school history.
