Gloria R. Benney Mrs. Benney, 57, of Freehold Township, died Nov. 6, 2007, at home. Born in Philadelphia, she had lived in Connecticut and Boston before moving to Freehold Township 10 years ago. She graduated with honors from Brookdale Community College, Lincroft section of Middletown, with a degree in music and was a legal secretary for various law firms in New Jersey. She was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township, where she served as a lector, and was also a founding member of the church choir. Mrs. Benney was a lifelong member of the Girl Scouts. She was predeceased by her father, Edward "Judy" Rominecki. Surviving are her husband, Joseph R. Benney; two sons and a daughter-inlaw, Christopher J. and Tricia Benney of West Hartford, Conn., and David J. Benney of Freehold Township; a daughter, Elizabeth J. Benney of Freehold Township; her mother and stepfather, Rose and Thomas McCurey of Willow Grove, Pa.; and a sister, Deborah Weber of Freehold Township. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Church. Interment took place at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown section of North Hanover. Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements.
