Donate 'e-waste' on America Recycles Day

In recognition of the 11th annual America Recycles Day on Nov. 15, SAMR (Supreme Asset Management and Recovery), an e-waste recycling and remarketing company, Lakewood, will sponsor a weeklong drive to collect e-waste from the general population at 50 locations throughout the tristate by working jointly with Panasonic, Secaucus; JVC, Wayne; and Sharp Electronics Corporation, Mahwah, to underwrite the collection and recycling costs.

According to Charlie McFadden, vice president of operations at SAMR, during the recycling event, the company will be collecting anything considered electronic waste or "e-waste," including computers, monitors, televisions, batteries of any kind, printers, key boards, cell phones, and even wires."

A local e-waste drive will take place Nov. 17, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the FirstEnergy Park parking lot (Home of the Blue- Claws), 2 Stadium Way, Lakewood. Call (732) 987-8149 for details or to make special arrangements for boxed trucks or tractor-trailers.

Other drives to collect e-waste throughout the tristate will take place at various times Nov. 15-21, at each of 50 different towns, representing the 50 states.
