Forum on school safety was well done
Iwould like to comment on the exemplary leadership and initiative displayed by state Assemblyman Mike Panter in the organization of the information session he held for superintendents and law enforcement officials in the 12th District.

This session was held in response to last year's bomb threats at the Marlboro Middle School and other area schools and the procedural disorganization that resulted.

Thanks to Mike Panter, the information session was not only pertinent, but highly effective, focusing on safety needs and the ability to correctly respond to crises that could threaten the safety of our children.

Members of the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness and the state Department of Education's Office of Program Support Services were able to assist local law enforcement and provide school officials with much-needed insight to protect our children more effectively and efficiently.

As a recent Board of Education member, I know our children are now much safer due to the efforts of Mike Panter, who understands the issues facing our schools.

Mike Panter is protecting our schools and children, and should be commended for his efforts to organize and inform officials, as well as the public.
