Arc of Monmouth mentors receive honors

Ten members served by The Arc of Monmouth's employment department recently honored mentors who have played a significant role in teaching, supporting and encouraging them in gaining the knowledge and skills needed to become successful in the work place. Among those honored were two people who work in Freehold: Eric Darnley of the Corner Stone Café and Restaurant and Diane Striffilino of Babies "R" Us.

According to Thea Strong, director of The Arc of Monmouth, the mentors work generously share their experience and expertise by working side by side with those served by The Arc of Monmouth, and in doing so enhance the success of these employees. The mentors were honored Oct. 17 to coincide with National Disability Mentor Day.

The Arc of Monmouth Employment Services program assists individuals with developmental disabilities to find jobs in the community. Arc of Monmouth Resources has a center located in Freehold Raceway Mall, Freehold Township.
