CentraState honors late Marine, Thomas Blanchet

In gratitude of donations made to honor Thomas J. Blanchet, a late Marine from New Jersey, CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township, has dedicated its new Cardiac Diagnostic Center in his memory. Among the donations made toward a $10 million capital campaign for CentraState's new ambulatory campus was a gift of $1.5 million in Blanchet's honor made by a group of anonymous donors.

Blanchet served in the U.S. Marine Corps and fought in Okinawa during World War II. He was one of the few rifle company commanders to survive the battle. His 6th Marine Division was later honored with a Presidential Unit Citation, the highest unit award conferred by the United States.

The Thomas J. Blanchet Cardiac Diagnostic Center is located in the new Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus adjacent to CentraState Medical Center.

For more information about donation programs and naming opportunities at the hospital, call CentraState Healthcare Foundation at (732) 294-7030.
