Dog-training facility is providing a service to customers
It's been almost three years now that I come into Howell on a regular basis. I stop and pick up groceries, I fill my car with gas and often I meet others and we go out to dinner.

If the zoning board has their way I will no longer be a patron of any business in Howell because the zoning board is looking to take away the reason that I (and quite a few others) visit Howell in the first place and that is to go to Kindred Souls Canine.

It's my understanding that the Howell zoning board thinks Kindred Souls is a kennel, which is odd because I've never seen anything there to indicate it is either a breeding or boarding facility because in fact, it's not. It's a training center and I for one am glad it is there.

When a deaf, abused little dog with monstrous issues came to my home, we nicknamed him Migraine and started to look for someone to help us.

At Kindred Souls we received not only a warm welcome, but help, instruction and support in how to turn this little miserable creature into a happy healthy dog.

I'm delighted to report this is exactly what happened. I now own a happy, healthy, obedient little dog which, considering the condition he was in when I got him, is beating the odds.

Odds are beaten every day at Kindred Souls. There are so many people with stories similar to mine that someone could write a book.

Yet that is not what this is about, this is about why is the zoning board trying to shut down such a wonderful place? Kindred Souls has been operating in Howell for over seven years, why suddenly is the zoning board trying to push them out? Isn't this the sort of business you want in your town? If you own a business in Howell, are you next?

If the Howell zoning board is successful and forces Kindred Souls out of Howell I hope they move their facility to my town.
