Freehold Township begins hydrant flushing

The Freehold Township Water Department began hydrant flushing on Sept. 26 and it will continue through November. Flushing will be done between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, according to a press release from the township. The flushing may cause the water to become slightly discolored. Running the cold water for several minutes should clear up the problem, according to the press release.
