School PTO donates computers
Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Monmouth County, Marlboro, announced that the school's PTO has purchased 21 computers, keyboards and 19-inch flat screen monitors for the Technology Lab.

PTO President Jenny Cohen said, "Due to the strong commitment of our families to Solomon Schechter Day School and to Jewish education, we were able to accomplish the total outfitting of a new, state-ofthe art technology lab. This goal was realized through the hard work of our families, who supported our fundraising goals through volunteerism and financial support."

The cost of the new computers amounted to approximately $23,000, according to a press release. The PTO offered a variety of family fun events to fundraise, including the sale of cookbooks and entertainment books, T-shirt, towel and magazine sales, holiday boutiques, book fairs and a Purim basket exchange.

Dr. Paul Drew, the school's Language Arts department head and technology coordinator said, "The formal technology education at Solomon Schechter Day School is provided to all students from first grade through middle school. The new lab provides an environment that is exciting, creative and fun. It augments all the academics in the school, in both Judaic and secular studies. It will allow students to conform to academic standards established by Solomon Schechter Day School, in writing reports, doing research, etc."

The Solomon Schechter Day School offers nursery through eighth grade school programs.
