Local youngster has work in 'Highlights'

The August 2007 issue of Highlights for Children has published a photograph and description of a nutcracker collection by 9-year-old Tommy Colón of Freehold Township, a fourth-grade student at the Joseph J. Catena School.

The national magazine was founded in 1946. Its readers are children up to age 12 in many parts of the world.

Tommy, the son of Daniel and Connie Colón, enjoys baseball, soccer, reading, writing, comic books and riding his scooter. His future plans include becoming a baseball player and a writer.

About 2 million copies of Highlights go 12 times a year to children's homes, schools, libraries and professional offices.
