Mayor Kleinberg has helped Marlboro move forward
The residents of Marlboro elected Mayor Robert Kleinberg to clean up our town after years of corruption. So it doesn't surprise me that defenders of the status quo attack him for succeeding at ridding Marlboro of those who took advantage of the public trust for their own benefit.

Jerry Tomaselli spews more of the same rusty rhetoric (News Transcript, Letters to the Editor, Aug. 22) that we have heard time and again from those who want to turn back the clock on the progress we've made. Mr. Tomaselli must be blinded by his opposition to political reform because his attacks fly in the face of common sense.

Mayor Kleinberg has restored honesty and integrity to government by passing new laws that will stop the reckless overdevelopment of Marlboro, eliminating wasteful government spending while holding the line on taxes, enacting tough anticorruption laws and proving unprecedented cooperation with the FBI and U.S. Attorney to help bring to justice those who robbed Marlboro in the past.

I've never understood residents who talk down their town and embrace negativity. Marlboro is a great community; it was just voted one of the best places to live by Money magazine.

Mr. Tomaselli says, "it's time for a change" and he's right. It's time for the defenders of the status quo to change their rhetoric and realize that Marlboro is moving forward and that its best days are still ahead of us.
