No need for family's personal life to be played out in the papers
Iam writing this in response to an article written in the Aug. 22 News Transcript involving Drew Shapiro and Stuart Moskovitz ("Political Foes Do Battle on Yet Another Front.")

I have known Drew Shapiro and his family for almost 20 years. I know him and his family to be good law-abiding citizens as well as very good and generous people.

It is a very sad day when spiteful and vindictive people such as Mr. Moskovitz have to bring up personal and private issues concerning one's family.

What is the purpose or reasoning for Mr. Moskovitz to try and expose Drew's personal life? I do not believe Drew Shapiro has ever spoken badly about Mr. Moskovitz's family in public or in the newspapers.

If there are political differences between the two gentlemen then why can't Mr. Moskovitz just stick to their political differences?

It is unfortunate that Mr. Moskovitz is taking his valuable time to try and embarrass a family with articles that have nothing to do with the politics of Manalapan.

I am surprised knowing that Mr. Moskovitz having children of his own would take an assault on a person's personal life situations. How do you think Drew Shapiro's children feel to see their father ridiculed and smeared in the newspaper concerning his private family matters?

Just imagine how your children would feel if they were reading this garbage about you and for their whole town to see.

The unfortunate personal family problems surrounding the Shapiros have no business winding up in a newspaper for everyone's criticisms and entertainment. Very few people really know the whole truth involving Drew Shapiro and his father, including Mr. Moskovitz. Yet he throws this out to the public to try and paint an ugly picture of Drew Shapiro.

Drew Shapiro has given countless years of his time to help better the town of Manalapan. It's about time that people such as Drew Shapiro are applauded and thanked instead of unfairly ripped apart by selfish people like Stuart Moskovitz. Without concerned people like Drew, good towns such as Manalapan would not exist.

In closing, I would like to say that Mr. Moskovitz should rethink why he got involved in town politics. Mr. Moskovitz needs to recognize that the laws in this country stand for the good of the people and not to hurt them.

By continuing his campaign against one man, Mr. Moskovitz will continue to make a mockery of the town of Manalapan and will be an embarrassment to himself, his wife, his children, and sadly the judicial system. I am proud to say that Drew Shapiro is my friend. How many of you can say that of Stuart Moskovitz?
