Hazlet Recreation will continue its free "Concerts in the Parks" series with The Infernos Aug. 28 7 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, 1776 Union Ave., Hazlet. The nonprofit Soar Productions, 1110 Union Ave., Union Beach, will present "Mr. 80 %" by James Sherman Aug. 17 to Sept. 1. Performances will be Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sunday Aug. 26 at 2 p.m. The play involves two men pretending to be gay so they can share an apartment with two beautiful women who have given up on relationships. Cast members include Becky Stromberg, Eatontown; James Walsh, Leonardo section of Middletown; Kristen Shea, Brick; and Greg Hartman, East Brunswick. Tickets are $18, and $15 for seniors and students. Dan Levinson's Palomar Quartet will perform, as part of Ocean County College's (OCC) Midweek Jazz Series, Aug. 22 at 8 p.m. at the Fine Arts Center, Main Campus, College Drive, Toms River. The Palomar Quartet will celebrate the anniversary of the Swing Era with the sound of Benny Goodman, a man who was credited with the launching of swing. Clarinetist Dan Levinson has led sellout Goodman tributes in Manhattan, Morristown, Bridgewater, and Europe and had a leading role in last January's "Three Benny Opera" production at OCC. Asbury Fever will perform for Jackson Township's final free Concert Under the Stars of the season Aug. 22 (rain date Aug. 23), 7:30-9 p.m. at John F. Johnson Jr. Memorial Park. Asbury Fever is an eight-piece band, complete with horns, that celebrates the music of Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Little Steven, Clarence Clemons, Bon Jovi, John Eddie and Gary U.S. Bonds. The concept of the band is to re-create the popular Jersey Shore sound of the '70s and '80s by covering the many artists that define that distinct sound. In addition to that, the band performs classics from Meatloaf, The Blues Brothers, John Cafferty, Elvis Costello, Elvis Presley and others.
