Illegal immigrants are draining United States resources In regard to Thomas Bald-win's letter about the illegal invaders inhabiting my country ("Leave Law-Abiding Immigrants Alone in Freehold," News Transcript, Letters to the Editor, June 27), the federal, state and local prisons are overflowing with them. Hospitals across the country are closing because they cannot keep up with the influx of people who use the emergency rooms as their primary-care providers. They undermine our wage structure because they can work for less than someone who must pay income taxes and Social Security taxes. Many bring with them new strains of diseases that we have eradicated in the past. Often they will live 18 to 20 people in an apartment meant for one-family occupancy. It appears that Mexico has outsourced their social services program to the United States. Instead of marching around Freehold with flags from south of the border, they should be demonstrating there. When I hear from our politicians how great they are for our economy, why are they not great for Mexico? Ride or walk around town and you will notice that almost all of the females of child-bearing age usually have a toddler in tow, another in a stroller or carriage and another on the way. When I hear people say we cannot deport the 12 million to 20 million estimated to be here, we can start with those who come to the attention of the police (no license, no insurance, etc.) The money sent back to Mexico is that country's second largest source of income, behind only revenue from oil, and this should be taxed.
