Children invited to casting call

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP - Pamela Roth, a former Manalapan resident who now runs the Youth Commercial Division at Don Buchwald and Associates, New York, a full-service talent agency specializing in television, film, commercials and voice-overs will hold an open casting call on July 20 from 5-10 p.m. at the Free-hold Gardens Hotel, Gibson Place (off Route 537).

Anyone between the ages of 4 and 20 may audition for Roth, her assistant and Manalapan-based voice coach, Mona Greenberg.

The event is free and open to any child interested in breaking into show business.

In her position at Don Buchwald and Associates, Roth, 25, specializes in on-camera commercials (network spots like AT&T Wireless, Olive Garden, Gardasil and more), voice-over work (animated series), radio commercials (Verizon Wireless, Mattel, Fisher Price and more) and print (J.C. Penney, Target).

Roth said she has a client list of more than 200 children, but said she is always looking to expand her department to find the next child star.

Interested children/parents are asked to preregister for the event by sending an e-mail to kidscasting@gmail.com with the child's age and name to be added to the list at the door. Additional information will be provided once the preregistration is complete.

Upon arrival, children will receive audition materials (a short commercial) to prepare for the panel. If the child sings, he or she may prepare a short song a capella to perform (no dancers, jugglers, etc.).

If chosen to continue to the next step, children will be asked to commute to Manhattan for a callback at Don Buch-wald's offices, Roth said, adding that parents must be aware of the commitment to take their children back and forth from New York City to audition (can be almost daily).

For more information call Pamela Roth at (212) 867-1070.
