Parade committee thanks businesses and residents

The Freehold Memorial Day Parade Committee would like to express its appreciation to the businesses and residents of Freehold Borough and Freehold Township who so generously responded to the committee's fund drive to help defray the expenses associated with presenting the 133rd Freehold Memorial Day Parade.

This year's parade consisted of 70 units from around the state - honor guard from McGuire Air Force Base, Civil Air Patrol and ROTC groups, members of the Buffalo Soldiers and Sand Hill Indians, Fred Lahotay Ragtimers, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops and many local civic and service organizations. We were also honored to have many of our elected government officials join the line of march.

The committee would also like to thank the members of the Freehold Borough Police Department and Road Department. Their assistance in handling traffic issues and preparing Freehold for the parade was invaluable.

We sincerely hope the community enjoyed the 133rd Memorial Day Parade presented to remember those veterans who gave the ultimate price for the freedoms we enjoy today, and to show support for our servicemen and servicewomen serving today.
