Summer camp introduces kids to horse management

Howell Township Recreation Department is offering a summer camp, "Pony Grooming and Horsemanship," for children.

The unique program provides an introduction to the world of cobs, ponies and horses. The one-week camp, available June, July or August, will cover safety on and around horses, equine senses and body language, basic anatomy, grooming, tack and harness, English and western riding, barn management and more.

Camp dates and times are as follows: June 26-30 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; July 9-July 13 from 4:30-6 p.m.; and Aug. 14-18 from 1:30-3 p.m.
