Auditions

Strand Theater Ensemble will hold auditions for its September-October performance of "La Cage aux Folles." Auditions for men and women dancers and singers for the roles of The Cagelles will take place July 1-2 at 7 p.m. at the Strand Theater, Lakewood. Come prepared to sing 16 bars of an up-tempo Broadway show tune and be prepared to dance. Candidates who are unable to attend these auditions may contact gloopdog@msn.com. Auditions for the remainder of the cast will be held July 29-30 at 7 p.m.

Phoenix Productions will host open auditions for "The Sound of Music," July 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Von Trapp children only; and July 17-18 at 6 p.m. for children, and 7-9 p.m. for adults. Auditions will take place at the Phoenix Studio Theatre, 111 Monmouth Street, Red Bank. All parts are open. Auditioners should prepare 16 bars and must have sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Auditioners should wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to dance. Those who are unable to attend on given dates or who may be interested in working behind the scenes on the production should e-mail wendy@phoenixredbank.com.

Monmouth Players will hold auditions for its October production of Levinson and Link's "Guilty Conscience," July 16-17 at 8 p.m. at the Navesink Library Theater at the corner of Sears and Monmouth avenues in the Navesink section of Middletown.
