Edward Spurvey

Mr. Spurvey, 89, of Manalapan, died May 23, 2007, at home. Born in Fox Harbor, Newfoundland, Canada, he had resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., before moving to Manalapan 22 years ago. Before his retirement, Mr. Spurvey was a mechanic for Fink's Bakery in Manhattan, N.Y. He was a communicant of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan. He was predeceased by a grandson, Paul, in 2004. Mr. Spurvey is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick and Ginger, and Edward and Gerri; three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Mike Mozeleski, Donna and Jim McArdle, and Annette and Dan McIntyre; a sister, Nora Capper; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Thomas More Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan.
