Joseph J. Carchesio Sr.

Mr. Carchesio, 89, of Manalapan, died May 19, 2007, at home. Born and raised in Westchester, N.Y., he settled in Manalapan in 1954. He established the family's business, Carchesio Farms, Manalapan. He was predeceased by his son, Julius Rocco, in 2002. Surviving are his wife, Eletra Carchesio; three sons, Robert and his wife, Peggy; Joseph Jr. and his wife, Donna; and Michael, all of Manalapan; a daughter, Millie Citarella and her husband, Ralph, of Freehold; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a sister, Carmela Quast of Fairfax, Va. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Englishtown, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. The Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.
